Summer 2026 events: sustainable merchandising trends you need to know

Eventos de verano 2026: tendencias en merchandising sostenible que debes conocer

Every summer brings its own merchandising trends, and 2026 is no exception. Brands that get ahead of the trends achieve greater impact, better reception and more conversations around their promotional products. This year, sustainability is not just a trend: it is the foundation on which all the others are built.

From Greenly we have analysed market developments, the movements of major European brands and the demands of our clients to identify the 5 major trends of summer 2026 in ecological merchandising.

1. Experiential personalisation, not just visual

The number one trend is moving from aesthetic personalisation (logo on the product) to experiential personalisation. This means that the product tells a story, creates an experience or invites action.

Example: a stainless steel bottle personalised with a QR code that links to a page showing the environmental impact of the product («This bottle prevents 167 plastic bottles per year, equivalent to…»). The recipient not only uses the product, but learns and gets involved.

2. Innovative materials: beyond bamboo and cotton

Bamboo and organic cotton remain mainstays, but this summer new materials are gaining momentum:

3. Wellness meets outdoors

The fusion between wellbeing and outdoor activity defines many of the star products of this summer. Kits combining hydration, sun protection and relaxation accessories are booming:

The key is to offer a complete pack that solves a real need, not loose products that get lost in a drawer.

4. Minimalism in personalisation

Less is more. The clear trend is towards discreet personalisation: small logos, subtle engravings, corporate colours integrated into the product design rather than printed on top.

The goal: make the product so beautiful and functional that the person wants to use it of their own volition, not out of obligation. A logo engraved on the base of a stainless steel bottle or a discreet embroidery on a cap works much better than a giant print all over the product.

5. Total transparency: traceability as a value

B2B clients (and end consumers) want to know where each product comes from: where it is made, what materials are used, what certifications it has, what its carbon footprint is. Traceability becomes a product feature as important as its colour or size.

At Greenly we work with suppliers who offer complete traceability information. Check our certifications page to learn about the standards we require.

How to apply these trends to your summer strategy

  1. Review your product mix: incorporate at least one innovative material into your selection.
  2. Think in packs: combine products that solve a complete need.
  3. Simplify personalisation: less logo, more integrated design.
  4. Add storytelling: include the sustainability story of each product.
  5. Measure and share: quantify the positive impact of your eco choice and communicate it.
